James Howard Woods is an American actor.

Early Accomplishments

During his student years, he attended the Theatre Company of Boston which gave him a first taste of acting on the scene. Before debuting at Lyceum Theatre, he played in 36 plays. In 1971, he got the role of Bob Rettie in Moonchildren at Washington’s Arena Stage.

Best Known For

James is best known for his specific fast-talking roles on stage and widescreen. A worldwide audience can recognize him for playing Max in Once Upon a Time in America. His other prominent works include Salvador (1986), Against All Odds, True Crime, and the TV series Shark.

James is straight. In 1980, he got married to Kathryn Morrison, a costume designer. Therefore, the couple divorced after three years of mutual life.
