Jerome joined the vaudeville later than his brothers, in 1932. He started acting with Moe, known for his “pot-haircut”, and Larry, who was frizzly haired after Shemp left the trio.
Two years later, the guys signed a contract with Columbia Pictures and after some time Jerome became comedian star thanks to his gift for producing funny sounds and physical and inventive comedy manner.
The actor had to retire in 1947 after he experienced a heart stroke during the shooting of Half-Wits Holiday. After recovery, Jerome came back and starred in Hold That Lion!, but his health didn’t give him a chance to continue his acting as he wanted that.
Jerome Howard loved women and was married four times. After his third wife proved to be a “money-hunter” they divorced and in 1947 he married Valerie who truly loved him and gave life to Jerome’s second child.
Curly Howard and his brothers were born to the Jewish parents and were raised in a Jewish atmosphere.

By 1945, Jerome got numerous health issues that influenced his acting. In addition, that was complemented by his love to a good life: alcohol, clubs, women. After two weeks of knowing Marion, he married her and divorce just after 3 months as she proved to be interested only in his money. Her accusation in him being rude with her provoked his stroke.
