Mike d'Abo is a British rock & roll vocalist and lyricist, prominently recognised as the frontman and lead vocal of the band, Manfred Mann.
Early Accomplishments
His career in music kicked off while he was in high school, co-formed a group called A Band Of Angels. He got noticed by members of Manfred Mann while performing one of the group’s songs, Invitation in 1966.
Best Known For
With Mike as lead vocal, Manfred Mann had recorded chart toppers such as Just Like a Woman in 1966 and The Mighty Quinn in 1968. His integrity as a songwriter is also verified with hits such as Build Me Up Buttercup and Handbags and Gladrags.

Worth To Know
Upon gaining admission into Selwyn College, his initial plan was to study theology with a view to priesthood but soon became uninspired and made the change to economics. He however, did not graduate.
After music, d'Abo started writing jingles for radio and TV ads.
He also took to working as a radio dj and presenter from 1986.
