Early Accomplishments

Encouraged by her mother, Monica started out by singing in the church choir and by 10, her talent was acclaimed. After honing her vocal gift for 2 years, she was noticed and signed by Rowdy Records owner, Dallas Austin in 1992, making her first album when she was 15 years.

Best Known For

Her Grammy award-winning and record breaking song The Boy Is Mine with Brandy Norwood in 1998 is probably what Monica will always be celebrated for. Her first album Miss Thang in 1995 and the next one The Boy Is Mine have recorded multiplatinum sales.

Asides having stints on TV shows, she has starred in movies such as Boys and Girls in 2000 and The Twins in 2001.
