There are not so many songwriters and performing artistes who can not only play the piano, guitar and the trumpet, but also look awesome doing it. Holly Miranda, the founder of The Jealous Girlfriends, a pop band, is surely one of these rare ones.
Early Accomplishments
She began singing in church at a very early age and playing the piano at 6. She taught herself to play the guitar at 14. Although she signed a record deal with BMG at just 17 years old, none of the music she recorded with them were released.
Best Known For
The Jealous Girlfriends received approval from critics when their songs featured on The L Word, Grey’s Anatomy and CSI: Miami. They made 2 albums together, in 2004 and 2007.
She released her first solo album The Magician’s Private Library in 2010 that peaked at number 40 on the Billboard chart.
She released a self-titled album in 2015 and Party Trick in 2016.
Sexual Orientation
Holly is a lesbian. Although she is open about it, she doesn’t like her sexuality to be related to her art. She dated actress Katherine Moennig.
Family
There is currently no information about Holly’s family. She was however, born in Detroit and her mother, Gina passed away recently.

Although Holly was born and raised in a Pentecostal family, there is no evidence to suggest she is still a Christian now.

She dropped out of high school and moved to New York to fully pursue a career in music.
