Robin Wright is not just another name in the show business. She is a director and an actress most notably on Netflix’s House of Cards with several awards and nominations to her name.

Early Accomplishments

Robin’s entry into show business was through modelling. She was a model for Mary Kay Cosmetics, sometimes leaving school for jobs in Paris and Tokyo when she was 14. Encouraged by her modelling agency, she went into acting after high school and landed a role on the soap opera, Santa Barbara.

Best Known For

After her exploits with Santa Barbara, she was noticed and immediately landed a lead role in The Princess Bride in 1987. Her next major act was playing Jenny in Forest Gump in 1994. She has featured in several other movies including Wonder Woman, Moneyball, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Blade Runner 2049, etc.

Her most prominent work till date is playing Claire Underwood in Netflix series, House of Cards.

Born to Freddie and Virginia Wright, who are a pharmaceutical administrator and a sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics respectively, she has a brother called Richard Wright.

She has two children with Sean Penn: Dylan, her daughter and Hopper Jack, her son.
