Early Accomplishments

Her musical career was officially launched as she released the 1990 album, Mariah Carey. This album was a huge hit as it topped the charts in the US and Canada.

She played a role of Ilana in the movie The Bachelor (1999).

Best Known For

She has attained much fame through her 2006 single titled We Belong Together. This song earned her 2 Grammy Awards.

Sexual Orientation

Mariah is straight. In 1993, she tied the knot with the famous music executive Tommy Mottola. Unfortunately, their union only lasted 5 years as they got a divorce in 1998. 

10 years later, Mariah gave marriage another try and tied the knot with the popular actor Nick Cannon. However, this union did not pass the test of time also as they called it quits in 2016. 

Mariah has also been romantically linked with various other celebrities like Brett Ratner, Eddie Griffin, Eminem and Christian Monzon. 

Currently (2018), she is in a committed relationship with the dancer Bryan Tanaka.

Her parents are Patricia and Alfred Carey. As a result of her second marriage, Mariah has 2 children, Moroccan and Monroe.

Religion

Mariah is an Episcopalian. She is very dedicated to her religion and even got married for the first time at an Episcopalian Church. She has stated on various occasions her belief in prayer as well as her conviction about God. She also stated once that despite the tough paths she walked through in her life, God has been the one who has seen her through.
