Joaquin Phoenix is an outstanding American musician, producer, actor and activist. 

Early Accomplishments

Joaquin's acting career was officially launched while he was yet a child through the television series, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. By 1985, he portrayed the Frankie character in the movie, Kids Don't Tell. This was his first film role. 

Best Known For

Joaquin is mostly recognized for his role in the movie Walk The Line. Portraying the Johnny Cash character in this film earned him a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award. He was nominated for another Golden Globe Award for his role in Her. 

Sexual Orientation

Joaquin is straight. Since 2016, Joaquin has been in a committed relationship with the actress Rooney Mara. Prior to this, he has been romantically linked with various famous stars, among who include, Heather Christie, Aria Crescendo and Anna Paquin. 

Family

The social activist Arlyn Phoenix is Joaquin's mother. He has 4 siblings, River, Rain, Liberty and Summer Phoenix, who have also sustained a successful career in the entertainment industry. 

Religious Belief

Joaquin was raised to have a mind of his own when it comes to religion. His parents were attending a church at some point but they allowed him to make his own decisions. As an adult, he has neither found the necessity of a religion nor the logic behind the belief in an afterlife.
