The single Jigga My Nigga was his first number one single under the rap category in the US. In 1998, he ventured into acting, through the film Streets Is Watching. 

Best Known For

In 2009, the single Empire State Of Mind was ranked as a number one single in the US, under the R&B as well as the rap category. Through his music, he has won 21 Grammy Awards and 7 BET Awards. 

Sexual Orientation

Jay-Z is straight. Over the years, he had been romantically linked with a couple of famous stars, among who include, Shenelle Scott, Kim Kardashian, Lil Kim, Rita Ora and Rihanna. 

Family

He and the pop star Beyoncé have been married for close to a decade and have 3 children together - Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter. Before his marriage to Beyoncé, he had a son Isa Jael with Shenelle.

When Jay-Z was a child, he was exposed to various religions but was not associated with any. Though he doesn't like to give his belief a particular tag, he believes in God but not in the existence of hell.

Though he is mostly referred to as Jay-Z by his fans, his actual name is Shawn Corey Carter.
