Who is Bobby Fischer?

Bobby Fischer was a genius chess player. 

Early Accomplishments

Bobby reached his first peak of fame in 1958 by receiving the World Chess Grandmaster title at the early age of 15. During this same period, he won the Chess Championship in the US.

Best Known For

Bobby left a legacy of being one of the best chess players to have ever touched the face of the Earth. He was also the inventor of Chess960, which was formally called Fischerandom Chess.

He had an elder sister, Joan Fischer, who contributed to the educational system by advocating for computer literacy to be taught to senior citizens and girls. She was also known for creating the peer tutoring system. Bobby had a daughter who lives in the Philippines. 

Religious Belief

Born to a Jewish mother, Bobby was technically Jewish. However, he did not seem like a devout Jew all his life and he had different phases of his life with various beliefs. In the 60's he got connected to an Evangelic Christian church called Worldwide Church Of God. During his time in this church, he took religion very seriously. Bobby devoted both his time and his resources to the church and strongly believed in not working on Sabbath day. He also gave credit to God on various occasions for the success he had attained. Nevertheless, after the church went through some scandals, Bobby left and referred to the church as being Satanic.

The name Bobby is derived from his name Robert while his middle name is James.

He died of kidney disease.
In interview for the Philippines' radio station he supported terrorist attacks on September 11 saying that is time to finish off the US once and for all.
