Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher was an American actress and writer. 

Early Accomplishments

Carrie got her initial acting exposure in her mother's television film in 1969 titled Debbie Reynolds And The Sound of Children. 6 years later, she got her next role in the movie Shampoo.  

Best Known For

Despite all the various major roles she played in the movie industry, no movie gave her the most recognition like the Star Wars. She even became referred to as Princess Leia more than she was called Carrie. 

Sexual Orientation

Carrie was straight. For just a year, Carrie was married to the singer and actor Paul Simon. About seven years after her divorce, she began dating the talent agent Bryan Lourd, whom she had a child with. 

Family

Carrie walked in both her parents' footsteps. Debbie Reynolds, her mother was an actress alongside her father Eddie Fisher as well. Her siblings also turned out pretty successful in the movie industry. Her brother is Todd Fisher, while her half-siblings are Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher. Carrie's daughter is the famous actress Billie Lourd. 

Religious Belief

Growing up, Carrie was raised under the Protestant denomination of Christianity. However, her father believed in Judaism so she went along with him for some services. Later in life, she took her own decision concerning her faith and became an agnostic.

A cardiac arrest claimed her life in 2016.
