Hugo Weaving

Hugo Weaving is a popular British-Australian actor born in Nigeria to British parents. 

Early Accomplishments

In 1983, after graduating from the Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art, Hugo played in The City's Edge that turned the audience’s attention to his personality and talent. Though that was a film far from Hollywood budgets, but it told the original story of the aborigines. After that, he got a few roles in other Australian films. 

Best Known For

First of all, Hugo became famous for the role in a cult film trilogy Matrix and, of course, for the role of Elrond in a famous film Lord of the Ring.

Surprisingly, but the roles of the villains made him famous too. The role in Transformers where he starred in 2007, in Captain America, filmed in 2011, and in Cloud Atlas, produced in 2012, gave him world recognition.

Hugo Weaving doesn’t consider himself of any nationality. Moreover, having a British passport Hugo doesn’t even think about himself as a British citizen. He says he’s just a citizen of the world.
