Hugh Laurie is a popular British film and television actor who is famous in America as well. 

Early Accomplishments

During his college years, Hugh Laurie was fond of rowing. He excelled in this sport, but just on the amateur level. His team broke apart and to stay busy he decided to probate for the university drama group that produced such stars as Sacha Baron Cohen, John Cleese and Douglas Adams. That was a key moment for all his future life.

Without any doubt, that was the role of an arrogant and self-confident doctor Gregory House that lifted Hugh to his current popularity level. For his role of brilliant but erratic, the actor was nominated for Emmy Award 6 times and got a Golden Globe award.
