Early Accomplishments

Since his youth, Franco Nero already demonstrated love to acting and took part in school performances. 

While studying at university, Franco appeared in several Italian so-called photo novels. That’s how he was noticed and got a role in La Celestina P... R... in 1965. 

Due to that role, young Franco Nero was offered a role of Abel in Huston's film The Bible: In the Beginning...

Best Known For

Franco wasn’t very popular and famous actor when he was invited for the role of a gunfighter in a world-famous spaghetti-western Django in 1966. The same year he also starred in Texas, addio and Le colt cantarono la morte e fu... tempo di massacre, both of the same genre.

Franco’s religious beliefs are unknown. 

Sexual Orientation

The actor is straight. He met Vanessa Redgrave a few decades ago, but in 1969, after the birth of their son Carlo Gabriel Nero the two separated for about thirty years. They both concentrated on their careers: Nero became a star in Italy, while Vanessa continued the celeb acting path of her parents. The couple reunited in 2006.
