Princess Margaret

Princess Margaret was the younger sister of the current British monarch Queen Elizabeth II. 

Early Accomplishments

As a child, Princess Margaret demonstrated a talent of piano playing and was fond of swimming. 

Best Known For

Princess Margaret was infamous due to her relationships, which often were rather controversial. Among the objects of her love were an equerry, a photographer, and a man younger than the Princess herself.

Though her scandalous reputation was loud, Margaret was also known for her charity work. She ran many charity organizations and programs. She was also a president of the Royal Ballet and the president of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.  

Surprisingly, Princess Margaret was a commander of a few military units. 

Religious Beliefs

As all the members of the Royal family, Princess Margaret was an adherent of the Anglican Church. She was christened by birth and proved her faith in youth. 

Sexual Orientation

Princess Margaret was straight. She was officially married once, to the photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones. After their marriage, he got the title of 1st Earl of Snowdon. The spouses had two children (Lady Sarah Chatto and David, Viscount Linley), but after 18 years of marriage they divorced. In addition to her marriage, Margaret had relationships with a royal equerry Peter Townsend and young Roderic Llewellyn. 

Worth to Know

In 1985, the Princess underwent a surgery on her left lung. Part of it was removed because of her heavy smoking habit. 

Her wedding ceremony was the first one in the royal history that was broadcasted on TV.
