Early Accomplishments

Fury left school when he was just 11and went to work on the roads with his father who also trained himfor boxing. Fury comes from a boxing family, as his half-brother andhis father were both boxers – as well as some of his cousins. Infact, some of his distant relatives were bare-knuckle boxingchampions.

As an amateur, Fury represented bothIreland and England but did not compete at an Olympics. Only onefighter from each weight class was picked and England already had afighter who had come up through the system. He was unable to fightfor Ireland, as he was not born in the country.

Fury is the son of Irish travellerparents, Amber and John. He met his wife, Paris, when they were bothteenagers and married in 2008. The two have seven children, four boysand four daughters. All his sons have the first name, Prince, as hebelieves he is the king and they are the princes, who will be able toearn their rightful names when they are older.


Fury is a Christian with one parentthat was raised Protestant and one that was raised Catholic.

Tyson Fury remains one of the mostcharismatic and talented heavyweight boxers in the sport at thecurrent time. Once he turned professional, Fury rose up the ranksquickly, becoming British, Commonwealth, and European champion withinjust two years.

In July 2015 it was confirmed that Furywould fight Wladimir Klitschko with every single heavyweight belt onthe line. The fight was initially postponed and then was the centerof a number of controversies before eventually going ahead in theNovember. After a pulsating fight, Fury was declared the winner byunanimous decision and became the undisputed heavyweight champion ofthe world.

But Fury lost motivation after winningthe titles and a rematch with Klitschko was repeatedly cancelled.Fury also failed a drugs test at one point and ended up relinquishingall of his belts. It seemed as though we had seen the last of TysonFury in the ring.

 But in 2018, almost three years aftergiving up the sport, Fury returned to the ring and beat Sefer Seferiin his hometown of Manchester. In December of that year, he facedDeontay Wilder in Los Angeles for the WBC heavyweight title. Fury wasknocked down but managed to get back up to eventually draw the bout.He fought two more times in 2019, winning the WBO belt on the way,before facing Wilder again at the beginning of 2020.

Fury finally got his revenge overWilder in Las Vegas, winning by a TKO in the seventh round to takethe WBC title. He beat the same fighter once again later in the yearin his first defense of the belt. Since then he has retained the WBCheavyweight title on two occasions and most recently beatformer UFC champion, Francis Ngannou, and now boasts a34-0-1 record – with 24 by way of a knockout.

His next fight will be againstOleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia in February 2024, with all heavyweightbelts on the line. If Fury wins he will once again become theundisputed champion of the world.
