Early Accomplishments

Her first TV appearance was in the sitcom Operation Petticoat in 1977. Her first film debut was in 1978 when she was cast in Halloween, where she depicted Laurie Strode. This movie was the push to her next roles and worldwide popularity. 

Best Known For

She rose to prominence for her brilliant roles in horror films like Halloween (1978), Psycho, Slash Night, Halloween II, and all the next episodes of Halloween story. She got the title of Scream Queen for her performances in horror movies.

Jamie got married to Christopher Guest, a filmmaker on December 18, 1984. As she recalls, when she saw his picture from the movie This Is Spinal Tap, she swore she would marry him. 

The couple raised two adopted girls: Annie and Ruby.

Jamie was born in Santa Monica to Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis. Her parents were into acting, thus, she continued the dynasty of actors. Janet had Danish, German, and Irish roots, while Tony was Jewish.

She was raised alongside her sister Kelly, and later four half-siblings from her father’s later marriages.
