Gina Torres is an American actress who portrayed Cas in The Matrix franchise. She had episode roles in such popular series as
Xena: Warrior Princess (1997) and Gossip Girl (2009).
Gina began to perform with singing. She decided to make it into a career after rejecting a college education (due to high tuition). In 2001 she acquired the ALMA Award for portraying Helen Carter in Cleopatra 2525 series (2000-2001).
Best Known For
Gina got most of her fans for two roles. The first one is of Zoe Washburne in Firefly series (aired 2002) and Serenity movie (2005).
The second one is of Jessica Pearson in the Suits (aired 2011) and Pearson (2019) series. She became a producer and a leading actress of the last.
