Gina Carano

Gina Carano is a retired mixed martial artist and actress. She was able to successfully combine both career paths. In 2008 she appeared on the list of 10 most influential women.

Early Accomplishments 

Gina began her sports career with Muay Thai. Her first MMA took place in 2006. Overall, Gina had only one loss to Cris Cyborg. This was also her last mixed martial arts fight. 

Best Known For 

Even though she got her fame due to the MMA competitions, the wide audience became familiar with Gina only after her TV and big-screen appearances.  

She played a leading role in Ring Girls movie in 2005. Her other notable projects include Fast & Furious 6 (2013), In the Blood (2014), and Deadpool (2016) movies.  

Sexual Orientation 

Gina is straight. She used to date an actor Henry Cavill for two years. Gina’s current boyfriend is a Muay Thai Fighter, Kevin Ross. The couple began dating in 2015. 

Family 

Her parents are Dana Joy and Glenn Carano. Glenn played professional football. Alongside Gina, they had two daughters, Casey and Christie. Dana and Glenn split and the mother became solely responsible for the girls’ upbringing. 

Religion

Gina did not make any statements about her religious views, though she is known to have a Protestant Christian upbringing. It is still rather likely she is non-religious.

Gina was studying psychology at the University of Nevada.

She was unofficially awarded the title of the face of women's MMA. Gina herself did not like to be called this way.
