Nathan Fillion

Nathan Fillion is a Canadian-American actor who had parts in movies, series (both TV and web), and theatre production. He also voiced several video games such as Halo 3 (2007) and Destiny (2014).

Early Accomplishments

His break-out role was of Joey Buchanan in One Life to Live (aired 1968). Before moving to New York and getting part of this soap opera, Nathan has already had acting projects done such as Die-Nasty soap opera and Theatresports.

His most famous role is of Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the Firefly TV series (aired 2002). He also had a part in the following movie called Serenity (2005).

Nathan’s acting talent was recognized by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films which awarded him with the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future – Male title. His other achievement was Best Actor/Television by Syfy Genre Awards in 2006. Nathan himself considers this role to be the best he ever got due to its acting capacity.

Nathan is straight. He used to be engaged with Vanessa Marcil. However, their relationship did not work, and the couple split. He dated Kate Luyben and Christina Ochoa (both actresses) and broke up with Mikaela Hoover after his second engagement.

Family

Nathan comes from the family of English teachers Bob and Cookie. They have an older son Jeff who works as a principal in high school.

Religion

Nathan hasn’t made any statements regarding his religious views. However, it is a known fact he attended a Catholic school.

Worth To Know

Fillion wanted to follow his parents’ career path and become a teacher. He changed his mind after getting a role on One Life To Live.

He is a co-founder of Kids Need To Read charity (2006).

Nathan is the face of several pieces of contemporary art.
