Nate Parker is an American actor and remarkable film director. He had roles in Beyond the Lights (2014), Red Tails (2012), The Secret Life of Bees (2008) movies. Parker also does charity by providing young people with scholarships.

Early Accomplishments

His first role was in Rome & Jewel (2006) a controversial hip-hop version of Romeo and Juliet. For the rap part, Nate was compared to Will Smith. After a small role in Pride (2007), Parker got a part The Great Debaters movie by Denzel Washington (2007).

Best Known For
Besides his notable acting accomplishments, Nate is famous for directing films. He made a break-though on the 2016 Sundance Film Festival with his movie The Birth of a Nation where he also had a lead part. Fox Searchlight Pictures bought the rights for the movie, making it the most expensive Sundance Film Festival production.

When Nate was born, his mother, Carolyn Whitfield, was only 17 years old. Even though his parents did not make it to a marriage, he had a relationship with his father. Unfortunately, the last died when Parker was still an infant. He got his last name from his mother’s first husband. 

Nate has two sisters and used to live with his uncle Jay Combs.

Parker has four daughters with Sarah DiSanto and a daughter from another relationship.
