Larry David

Larry David (born Lawrence Gene David) is an American comedian also famous for TV production and acting. He co-created and wrote for the Seinfeld series (1989-1998).

Larry started as a stand-up comedian combining it with service jobs. He then was cast and became a writer for Fridays by ABC. He was working there from 1980 to 1982. At the same time, he was writing for SNL (1984-1985).

Best Known For

David’s most notable work was for Curb Your Enthusiasm series by HBO which aired in 2000. David made himself a main character and was engaged in writing every episode of the series. When thinking about the differences between him and his character, Larry mentioned the lack of social sensitivity his fictional twin has. This trait is the series’ main comic element.  

Sexual Orientation

David is straight. From 1993 to 2007 he was married to Laurie Lennard who used to be engaged in the entertainment industry.

Family

His mother Rose has Polish-Jewish ancestry. She was born in the current territory of Ukraine. His father Mortimer Julius David is also Jewish. Larry is a younger child. His is parents have another son Ken. It was discovered Larry is a distant relative of Bernie Sanders.

Larry has two daughters from his first marriage: Cazzie (b. 1994) and  Romy (b. 1996).

Despite the fact David was raised in a Jewish family, he is an atheist and speaks up against religious organizations.
