Early Accomplishments

A football star while in high school, Warren turned down 10 college football scholarships for a shot at a liberal arts degree but spent only a year at Northwestern University before going to study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

He made his debut in TV shows in 1975 with small roles on Kraft Television Theatre and Studio One.

Best Known For

He is the only one to have earned an Oscar nomination for writing, directing, producing and starring in a film (in fact twice!); the first being in Heaven Can Wait (1978) and Reds (1981).

He has also earned 18 Golden Globe nominations, winning 6 for his films that include Dick Tracy (1990), Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Bugsy (1991) and Rules Don’t Apply (2016).
