Yoko Ono is living a full life, setting her name in stone as a visual, multimedia and performance artist, singer-songwriter and a peace and human rights activist.
From a tender age, she moved a lot between Japan and America. At the age of 4, she began to learn to play the piano. While studying poetry, English literature and music at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, she began to exhibit her artistic prowess, using La Monte Young’s Tribeca loft as her performance space.

Yoko is straight and until his death in 1984, was the wife of late Beatles superstar, John Lennon. They got married in 1969 after dating for almost 3 years. Her first marriage was to Toshi Ichinayagi in 1956 but they split in 1962 before getting married to Anthony Cox in 1963 until their final split in 1969.
Until 2001, she was dating Sam Havadtoy since John’s death.
Yoko comes from an affluent family with Eisuke and Isoko Ono as her parents and Keisuke as her younger brother. Her first child is Kyoko Chan Cox (b. 1963) and her second is Sean Lennon (b. 1975).
Although Yoko was raised as a Christian and a Buddhist, she considers herself as a spiritual person, mixing her beliefs with astrology, mysticism and some Eastern philosophies.
