He halfheartedly began learning to play the guitar at 8 years but only became zealous about it right before he left middle school. He joined the band Stone Henge and later left to join Zyris. Looking to fill a vacant spot in Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk auditioned once and was instantly made the lead guitarist.

Best Known For

He was a guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, releasing 8 albums with them but has gained major renown as creator, lead vocalist and guitarist of Black Label Society. He also released an eponymous album with his short-lived band, Pride & Glory in 1994 and 2 solo albums; Book of Shadows I & II (1996 & 2016).
