He began playing soccer from 6 years of age and played for 3 local sides in his hometown, Malmӧ. After almost quitting soccer at the age of 15, his coach at Malmӧ FF convinced him otherwise and he signed a contract in 1996. He made his topflight debut in 1999 abd was transferred to Ajax in 2001.

Best Known For

Known for his strength, technique, acrobatics and venomous shots, he is currently the most decorated active player, after Dani Alves and Andres Iniesta. He also played for Juventus, AC Milan, Inter, Barcelona, Manchester United, PSG and now for LA Galaxy.

Sexual Orientation

Zlatan is straight and has been with his long-time girlfriend/partner, Helena Seger since 2001. Before her, he dated Maria Olhage for a year and is rumored to have hooked up with Erika Johnson in 2002.

Family

He and his 2 siblings are kids of Bosnian dad, Šefik Ibrahimović and Croatian mom, Jurka Gravić. He also has 3-half-siblings. He and Helena are parents of Vincent (b. 2008) and Maximilian (b. 2006).

Religion

Although his dad is a Muslim and his mom is Catholic, he has learnt to have respect for everyone’s belief but regards himself as a “deeply faithful Catholic”.

Worth To Know

He won the 2013 Puskas Ward for scoring an incredible bicycle kick from 30 yards put in a friendly game for Sweden against England. Sweden won 4 -2 with him scoring all 4.

Nobody knows why he refers to himself in the 3rd person when he speaks. In 2003, he even had the name “Zlatan” trademarked.

He and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only players ever to have scored a goal in every minute of a soccer game.
