James Brolin is an award-winning actor and filmmaker. He earned his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.

Early Accomplishments

At age 10, he was more invested into building airplanes than acting but began making movies as a teenager on 8mm films.

In 1961, after getting contracted to 20th Century Fox a year before, he debuted in an episode each of Bus Stop and Follow the Sun. His credited film debut was in Von Ryan’s Express (1965).

Best Known For

He has earned 4 Golden Globe nominations for his roles in The Reagans (2003), Hotel (1983-88) and Marcus Welby, M. D. (1969-79), even winning 2 plus a Primetime Emmy Award for the latter.

He also won a SAG for his part in Traffic (2000) and has appeared in films like Westworld (1973), Capricorn One (1977) and The Amityville Horror (1979).
