Aziz Ansari is the first Asian to win to a Golden Globe award as an actor. He is also a gifted comedian, writer and filmmaker.
Early Accomplishments
He began to do comedy while he obtained his marketing degree from NYU business school, performing at a UCB improv theatre in New York and local weekly TV shows like Invite Them Up.
He won a Jury Award at the HBO’s US Comedy Arts festival in 2006 and together with some fellow collaborators, he starred on MTV’s Human Giant (2007-08).
Best Known For
Among several nominations, Aziz has won a Golden Globe and 2 Primetime Emmy awards for Master of None (2015-17) on which he serves as writer, director and actor.
He is also acclaimed for Parks and Recreation (2009-15) and starred in the films 30 Minutes or Less (2011) and Epic (2013).

Aziz is straight and has been dating Danish doctor Serena Skov Campbell since 2017. Before that, he dated professional chef Connie McBroom for 36 months from August in 2014.
Family
Aziz and his brother and fellow writer, Aniz are sons of Tamil Indian parents, Shoukath and Fatima Ansari. He was born and grew up in South Carolina.
Religion
Both his parents are Muslims and was raised in the faith of Islam. He however declared himself as non-religious and now even borders on atheism.
