Early Accomplishments
At 8 years of age, she earned $20 a night, singing at bars to help with her family finances and began writing songs at the age of 10.
After stints with bands like Longshot and Flirt in her teenage and early adult years respectively, she released her eponymous debut album in 1993.
Best Known For
4 out of her 5 Grammy Awards was won with the highest grossing country album ever (40 million), Come on Over (1997) which produced songs such as You’re Still The One, Man! I Feel Like a Woman! and From This Moment On.
She also produced her own reality TV miniseries, Why Not? with Shania Twain in 2011.
Sexual Orientation
Shania is straight. She was famously married to her long-time music producer, Robert John Lange in 1993. After Robert had an affair with Shania’s bestie, Marie-Anne in 2008, they split in 2010.
Coincidentally, Marie-Anne and her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud had also split due to the affair and so Shania and Frédéric wedded on 2011 New Year’s Day.
Family
Born as Eileen Regina Edwards to Clarence and Sharon Edwards, she and her sisters, Carrie Ann and Jill were adopted by her stepdad, Jerry Twain. She also has a half-brother, Mark and an adopted stepbrother, Darryl.
She and Robert are parents to son, Eja (b. 2001).
Religion
Shania was raised a Christian but practiced Sant Mat with her ex-spouse. There is no information to suggest that she is still a devotee.
