Columbus Short

Columbus Short is a career dancer and choreographer who has found success as an actor and a singer.

Early Accomplishments

Known to have been performing for his family since the age of 3, he joined a youth theatre at 5 and attended an arts high school. He joined the Stomp tour after graduating.

He worked as a backup dancer for acts like Brandy before making headway in Hollywood as he starred in the 2004 dance film, You Got Served.

Best Known For

Notable film credits of his include Stomp the Yard (2007 and the 2010 sequel), Death at a Funeral (2007), Whiteout (2009) and The Losers (2010).

Some other film appearances are This Christmas (2007) and True to the Game (2017) while his most notable television job was starring in 46 episodes of Scandal (2012-14).

Sexual Orientation

Columbus is straight and has been married 4 times. His first marriage to Brandi Short ended in 2003 and in 2005, he married Tanee McCall who divorced him in 2013.

He got wedded to Karrine Steffans in 2015 but this also ended in 2016 but has been married to Aida Abramyan since early 2017.

In 2003, he was reported to have dated Britney Spears briefly. 

Family

He is the first of the 3 sons of Columbus Sr. and Janette Short, the other siblings being John and Chris.

He has a daughter, Ayala with Tanee and a son, Denzel with Aida. He also has an unnamed son with Brandi.

Religion

Columbus is not religious but appears to have been raised in some Christian faith.

He is very good friends with Ne-Yo and Megan Good. He had known the former since they were 10.

He also plays the drums and the piano but his hobbies are snowboarding, football and basketball.
