Laurie Hernandez

Laurie Hernandez is an Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast on the US Women Gymnastics Team. She is also a writer and a much-liked TV personality.

Early Accomplishments

At an early age, Laurie was enrolled to take ballet but did hated it. She however favored gymnastics and begged her mother to enroll her for lessons.

At Gym-Max Academy of Gymnastics, she achieved elite status at age 12 and in 2013, won her first international medal at a junior championship in Yokohama, Japan.

Best Known For

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Laurie shot herself to instant stardom by winning 2 medals, gold and silver.

Within months, she became the youngest ever winner of Dancing with the Stars, winning the show with pro dancer, Val Chmerkovskiy.

She also released her New York Times best-selling book, I Got This in 2017 and began to co-host American Ninja Warrior Junior.
