Athena Bass

Athena Lee Bass, like her famous brother, is musician and recognized as one of the best female drummers of all time.

Early Accomplishments

Following in the footsteps of her role model (her brother), she picked up an interest in drumming after high school and taught herself to play the drums. After gaining substantial skill, she joined the band, Butt Trumpet and later, an all-girl band, Hardly Dangerous.

Best Known For

She is currently the drummer of the band, Femme Fatale and has also been a guest running commentaries on E! True Hollywood Story and Behind the Wheel.

Right now, she stars on the reality series Ex-Wives of Rock since 2012 and has had her book, Coming In Second published in 2011.

Sexual Orientation

Athena is straight and is remembered to have been married to James Kottak for 14 years until their 2010 split but before then, she was married to Scott Atkins for a while right after her short-lived relationship with Steven Adler ended in 1987.

Family

She is the younger child of ex-Army sergeant, David Lee Bass and ex-beauty queen, Vassiliki Papadimitriou (represented Greece at Miss World 1960 pageant). Her brother is drummer Tommy Lee.

She is the mother of 3 children; daughter Tobi and son Miles (with Scott Atkins but have been adopted by James) and son Matthew Kottak. 

Religion

Unfortunately, Athena’s religious beliefs and practices are currently unknown. Though she celebrates Christmas.

Worth To Know

She is the first woman to be nominated for L.A. Music Awards Best Drummer at the 7th edition of the event. Asides this, she won Rockies Awards Best Female Drummer consecutively for 6 years.

As an entrepreneur, she makes candles under the brand name, Aphrodite By Athena.
