Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron is arguably South Africa’s greatest export to Hollywood. She has garnered international fame as a terrific actress and producer. 

Early Accomplishments

After winning a modeling contest at age 16, Charlize moved to Milan and spent the entire year modeling across Europe.

She attended ballet school and intended to pursue her childhood dream of dancing but an injury to both knees in 1993 ended that dream. She soon transitioned into acting, debuting 2 years on.

Best Known For

Some of her early works include Æon Flux (2005) and Hancock (2008) but has received the most acclaim for her role in Monster (2003). Other famed roles have in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Atomic Blonde (2017).

Sexual Orientation

Charlize is straight. From 1998, she dated Stephan Jenkins for 3 years and Stuart Townsend in 2002 until 2010. She was engaged to Sean Penn in 2014 after dating for a year but split in 2015.

Some other men she has been rumored to date include Brad Pitt, Alexander Skarsgård, Ryan Reynolds and George Clooney. 

Family

She is the only daughter of Charles and Gerda Theron. She adopted a baby boy, Jackson (he identifies as a girl) in 2012 and a baby girl, August in 2015.

Religion

Charlize has described herself as a “pagan by heart”. Her mother left the option open for her and she attended church for a while growing up. She is also rumored to follow Kabbalah teachings.
