Mark Philippoussis a.k.a Scud is a former tennis player from Australia who retired in 2015 after 21 career years. 

Early Accomplishments

Coached by his dad, he began playing tennis from age 6 and earned a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport.

In 1994, he was 3rd in the national junior rankings and junior doubles co-champion in Australia, UK and Italy and turned pro that year.

Best Known For

His biggest achievements in the game are a Davis Cup double he achieved in 1999 and 2003, as well as a Hopman Cup in 1999. He was also a finalist at the 1998 US Open and 2003 Wimbledon. 

His highest ever ATP ranking was 8, a feat he achieved in 1999 for 10 weeks.

He and Silvana Lovin got married in 2013 but before then he has been in a number of relationships such as Delta Goodrem in 2004 (amidst an affair with Paris Hilton), Amanda Salinas from a TV show in 2007, including a 1-year engagement to Jennifer Esposito in 2009 and another to Alexis Barbara in 2006.

He is the son of Rosanna and former Greek footballer, Nikolaos Philippoussis and he has a sister named Anna Maria.

He and Silvana became parents first to a son named Nicholas in 2014, then in 2018 to a daughter named Maia.

He modeled for a while during his injury-plagued career and appeared in the reality series, Age of Love in 2007. His prize was a relationship with Amanda Salinas.

At age 20, he upset world No. 1, Pete Sampras at the Australian Open 3rd round and beat him again in 1997 and Andre Agassi (world No. 1) in 2003.
