He studied business at Franklin Pierce University, began working for a Fortune-500 firm before becoming disillusioned with it. With his theatre experience from college, he took acting classes and made a debut in the film, Above the Rim and an episode of The Cosby Mysteries, both in 1994.

He is most famous for his roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as Mack from 2014 as well as Det. Jones in NYPD Blue from 2000 to 2005. He starred in 2004’s action comedy, Taxi and has recently appeared in 2 films with Taraji P. Henson, From the Rough (2013) and No Good Deed (2014).
