Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda is a Hollywood veteran with many accolades to her name. The screen darling is also a former model, producer, writer, fitness maven, political activist and a feminist.

Early Accomplishments

At only 15, she taught at a dance school and before she debuted acting, had appeared in Vogue cover twice.

She made her acting debut in 1960, first in a Broadway piece titled There Was A Little Girl and then in the romcom, Tall Story.

Best Known For

Known for her role in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, she also had a recurring role in The Newsroom (2012-2014).

She has appeared in many movies like The Dollmaker (1978), Youth (2015) and Monster-in-Law (2005).

On stage, she is most acclaimed for 33 Variations (2009).

Sexual Orientation

Jane is straight and has been married 3 times. Her first was to Roger Vadim in 1968 but ended in 1973. 3 days later, she was married to Tom Hayden but this too ended in 1990. In 1991, she married CNN man, Ted Turner and divorced in 2001. 

She has dated several other men including Donald Sutherland and a rumored time with Mick Jagger. She had Richard Perry as a partner between 2008 and 2017.

Family

Born to Henry Fonda and Frances Seymour, she has Peter Fonda as her brother. She is the mother of Vanessa Vadim and Troy Garity and also adopted a teenager in 1975 named Mary “Lulu” Williams. She is Bridget Fonda’s aunt.

Religion

Born an atheist, she became a Christian in 2001 and has remained devoted ever since. She also does yoga and Zazen meditation.

In 1982, she released the first of 13 Jane Fonda’s Workout video tapes which have become the best-selling VHS ever (17 million copies).

Known as the Hanoi girl, she is against wars. She is also the co-founder of Women Media Center.
