Sommore is regarded as New Jersey queen of comedy. The comedienne expertly dabbles between her stand-up career and being an actress.

Early Accomplishments

She studied business administration at the famous Morris Brown College and upon her graduation, began a job as a teacher. In 1994, she began hosting the TV show, ComicView until 1995 when she participated in the show Bitch House as a judge.

Best Known For

She and 3 other African-American comedians, including Mo’Nique are titled The Queens of Comedy. 

Her stand-up special in 2015, Sommore: The Reign Continues aired in 2018 on Netflix.

Some of her best known film roles are in Friday After Next (2002), Soul Plane (2004) and Something New (2006).

Sommore is straight but has not had any relationship worth mentioning by her. She revealed that she has a hard time finding a man because men usually fall in love with her stage persona and not her. The only man she has been linked with so far is the actor/comedian, Earthquake.

Family

She is born as Lori Ann Rambough, the daughter of a single mom while her father is Doughtry Long. This makes her the older half-sister of actress Nia Long.

Sommore is a Catholic. She attended Catholic schools all through her formative years and also speaks about attending Bible studies regularly.
