Flavor Flav

Flavor Flav is a rapper, musician, actor, comedian and TV personality who is known as a forerunner of the art of a hypeman in hip-hip.

Early Accomplishments

He began playing the piano at age 5 and taught himself to play it as well as the guitar and drums while also singing in his church’s children choir.

By the time he was in high school, he could play 15 instruments. He also went to culinary school after high school at age 19.

Best Known For

Flashy dressing, huge clock hanging on his neck and the regular yelling of “Flavor Flav!” and “Yeah, boyee!” were his trademark with the rap group he co-founded, Public Enemy. Their 1989 smash hit, Fight the Power became a movement.

On TV, he has starred in reality shows such as The Surreal Life, Strange Love and The Flavor of Love.

Sexual Orientation

Flav is straight. He dated Karen Ross during the late 80s to early 90s and Beverly Johnson (not the model) in the late 90s until 2002. He lived with and was engaged to Elizabeth Trujillo for 8 years until 2012. 

He also famously dated Brigitte Nielsen for 2 years and other women he has dated include Tiffany Pollard, Angie Parker and Latresha Bradford.

Family

Originally named William Drayton Jr., he is born to William and Anna Drayton with Jean Madison and Steven as his siblings. He fathers 3 children with Ross, another 3 with Parker and his youngest, Karma with Trujillo.

Religion

The only information as regards his religion is that he practices Islam.

He mistakenly burnt down a house with a lighter when he was a child.

He has served several jail times, starting from his days in the 11th grade.
