Joy McAvoy

Joy McAvoy has evolved from her teenage days of being a rapper to pursuing her dreams of being an actress. The beautiful blue-eyed damsel has shown versatility over the years and increased in experience.

Early Accomplishments

During her teenage years, she became a member of a rap crew with an “only girls” membership called Streetside and was working at a department store in Glasgow.

When she was 19, she left the group to pursue a serious acting career and soon became involved with rap star, Eminem in 2001 on her birthday bash.

Best Known For

She made her screen debut as Jemima in Jemima: Dating is Murder in 2003 and in Jemima: Photography Trophy in 2004 before reprising the role in 2008 film, Sessions of the Mind. 

Some of her most notable film credits are in Filth in 2013, Love Bite and The Angels’ Share in 2012. She has also had recurring roles in The Crews in 2016 and Two Doors Down in 2018.

Sexual Orientation

Joy is straight but the only major information on her dating history happens to be her 2001 encounter with Eminem. She has been dating Geoff Clement a gym owner since 2018.

Family

Joy is the only daughter of James and Elizabeth McAvoy and she has an elder brother, actor James McAvoy and a younger half-brother, Donald McAvoy.

Religion

She, like her famous brother, was raised in a very devout Roman Catholic home and she still is today.
