Steve Perry, known by critics and fans for his exceptional “high tenor altino” voice, is a successful singer-songwriter. He was lead vocalist for rock & roll band, Journey.
Early Accomplishments
His father was a singer and a radio station co-owner, hence his early fascination with music.
His decision to become a singer came after hearing Cupid by Sam Cooke on the radio in 1961.
He played the drums in his high school marching band and sang tenor in the College of the Sequoias choir.
He and Scott Mathews formed a band, Ice in 1971 and Pieces with Tim Bogert in 1975 but both bands quickly disbanded.

They broke up in 1986 and in 2011 he met Kellie Nash and they fell in love immediately. She died in December 2012.
Family
Although his whole family is deceased, he is the son of Raymond Perry (Pereira) and Mary Quaresma and has no siblings.
Religion
Steve is not religious but is spiritual and very open-minded. His bandmates still recall the moment he brought a Bible to their recording studio in 1996.
