Jessie J

Jessica Cornish, popularly known to the world as “Jessie J” has become a household name, earning a reputation as one of the best British singers and songwriters of our time. 

Early Accomplishments

Jessie started out in the musical Whistle Down the Wind, a West End show when she was 11 and in 2003, competed on Britain’s Brilliant Prodigies and winning the top pop singer prize.

She joined a girl band, Soul Deep and wrote her first song when she was 17 after joining the BRIT School a year earlier where she was mates with Leona Lewis and Adele.  

Best Known For

She is famous for songs such as Price Tag, Do It Like a Dude and Domino, all in 2011, Bang Bang in 2014, and Flashlight in the film Pitch Perfect in 2015. She has also been a judge/coach on seasons 1 & 2 of The Voice UK and seasons 4 & 5 of The Voice Australia.

She voiced Brooke in the animated film Ice Age: Collision Course in 2016.

Sexual Orientation

Jessica was bisexual for a while in her life but she announced she is straight in 2014. She was in a relationship with Luke James till 2017 and in October 2018, she began to date actor, Channing Tatum.

Family

She is the youngest daughter of Stephen and Rose Cornish. 

Her sisters are Hannah, who is older than her with 7 years and Rachel, who is 5 years older than her. She has described them both to be far more academically gifted than her.

Religion

In 2013, she spoke of her allegiance to her religious values and her commitment to her Christian faith. She has cited that her song, Thunder is a devotion to God.

Worth To Know

Jessie sang at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Olympic Games in London.

She received an infertility diagnosis in 2014.
