Thibaut Courtois

Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has gone from being a shot-stopping prodigy to becoming one of the very best in the world, justifying Real Madrid’s faith in his expertise. 

Early Accomplishments

He transferred to Genk in 1999 where he became a goalie. 

He made his first team debut right before he turned 17. 

In the 2010-11 season, he helped the club win the Jupiler Pro League and winning the club’s best player award. He then signed for Chelsea for $11.7 million (€9 million) in 2011 and went out on loan to Atletico Madrid.

Best Known For

He won the FIFA WC Golden Glove in 2018, the Premier League Golden Glove in 2017 and The Best FIFA Goalkeeper in 2018. 

He helped Belgium take 3rd place at the FIFA WC in Russia in 2018. 

He has won a La Liga medal, a Europa League medal and 2 Premier League medals, amidst others.
