Adam McKay is a creatively gifted filmmaker, writer, actor and comic with a specialty for improv comedy. He shares a creative alliance with Will Ferrell and they own Gary Sanchez Productions.
Early Accomplishments
After dropping out from college with just half a year to go where he was also a stand-up comic, he and a couple of friends established an improv troupe called the Upright Citizens Brigade.
He wrote and starred in Second City’s ground-breaking skit, titled Pinata Full of Bees in 1995 which won a Canadian Comedy Award as best directed revue.
Best Known For
He wrote and directed The Big Short in 2016, for which he won an Oscar.
He is also behind the films Anchorman 1&2 in 2004 and 2013, Step Brothers in 2008, The Other Guys in 2010 and Talladega Nights in 2006, all which Will Ferrell starred in.
For 2 seasons, he wrote for Saturday Night Live in 1995 and 2001 and the maker of web series, Funny or Die.

Adam is straight and has been married to fellow filmmaker, Shira Piven since 1996. He has been living with her happily as there are no scandalous reports about both parties ever since. He is not known to have been with another lady except his wife.
