Bo Derek

Mary Collins, known professionally as Bo Derek is an experienced actress and film producer. 

Early Accomplishments

She dropped out of high school and moved to Germany when she was 16 with John Derek and within months, appeared in her first movie titled Fantasies. 

After a change of name and looks and a move back to US, she starred in her 2nd movie titled Orca – Killer Whale.

Best Known For

She broke into the film industry in 1979 with the romantic comedy, 10. 

She is also famous for her roles in Tarzan the Ape Man in 1981, Bolero in 1984, Ghosts Can’t Do It in 1989 and heavily featured in the telenovela Fashion House in 2006.

Sexual Orientation

Bo is straight. She and director John Derek (who by that time, had divorced his wife) relocated to Germany to have a romantic relationship there when she was 16 and he 47. They moved back to US when she was 18 and they got married in 1976 until John’s death 22 years on. 

She presently has a relationship with John Corbett since 2002. They both met on a blind date.

Family

She is the eldest child of Norma White and Paul Collins. 

She has a brother and 2 sisters, including Kerry Perez, her personal assistant for a long time. 

After her parents’ divorce, she has Bobby Bass as her stepfather.

Religion 

Bo’s religion cannot be ascertained currently despite some reports suggesting that she is Roman Catholic and others proposing that she is a Scientologist.

She is a passionate animal rights activist and owns a world champion horse called Gaiata.
