Mac Miller

Mac Miller was known famously as a self-described “coolest Jewish rapper”. He was also a music producer, singer and an actor.

Early Accomplishments

Mac began his music journey by learning to play the piano at age 9. 

As his love for music grew in his teenage years, he taught himself to play the guitar, bass and drums.

He began rapping when he was 14 years old under the name “EZ Mac” and in 2007, he released his debut mixtape titled But My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy.

Best Known For

Mack’s music career was on a high, releasing 5 albums and over 10 mixtape. 

Blue Slide Park, his 2011 debut album, claimed top spot on the Billboard 200 chart while his other albums all made it in the top 5. 

Some of his famed songs include Donald Trump in 2011, Dang! in 2016 and Come Back To Earth in 2018.

Sexual Orientation

Mac was straight. 

He was infamously dating pop star Ariana Grande since 2016 until their split in May 2018. 

Before then, he and Nomi Leasure, his high school lover began dating in 2007 and their romance lasted 5 years.

Family

Mac is the younger son of architect Mark McCormick and photographer, Karen Myers. 

His brother, Miller McCormick, who is a graphic designer, helped design some of his album art.

Religion

Although his father is Christian, he opted for his mother’s Jewish religion. He is indeed Jewish and had his Bar Mitzvah but his tattoos mean he can’t be buried in a Jewish cemetery, which he says he is cool with.

He died of an overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol mixture on the 7th of September, 2018.
