After watching Gary Cooper in Beau Geste in 1939, 3-year old Terence fell in love with acting. He earned a living by working at advert agencies in the 50s.

Terence is straight. His 2002 marriage to 35 years younger Elizabeth O’Rourke ended in 2008.
He dated Jean Shrimpton in 1964 and after the breakup 2 years later, Stamp embarked on a decade long sabbatical to India.
He is the oldest of the five children born to Thomas and Ethel Stamp which includes his late brother Chris Stamp and sister Lynette Stamp.
It is unclear what religion Terence practices. While he spent a decade in the doctrine of Krishnamurti, he as lent his voice as God in the New King James version of the audio Bible.
