Tupac Shakur

Born Lesane Parish Crooks, hip-hop legend Tupac Amaru Shakur was a rap artist, producer, actor and activist who has been regarded in several circles as arguably the best rapper of all time. 

Early Accomplishments

He attended Baltimore School for the Arts where he met Jada Pinkett and he studied poetry, jazz and ballet as well as acting Shakespeare plays. He was well loved by many for his sense of humor and rapping prowess. 

He debuted rapping with the group Digital Underground in 1990 and dropped his first solo album in 1991. 

Best Known For

With unforgettable songs such as California Love, Dear Mama, Changes, Hit Em Up, How Do You Want It, Keep Ya Head Up and All Eyez On Me, Tupac has sold 75 million records, including 11 posthumous albums and etched himself into eternal music glory. 

He can also be remembered for staring in Poetic Justice with Janet Jackson in 1993, Gridlock’d and Gang Related both released in 1997.

Sexual Orientation

Tupac was straight. He got married to Keisha Morris in 1995 before going to jail but split up the following year. 

He was living with Kidada Jones up until his demise. 

He had a close-knit relationship with Jada Pinkett whom he described as a very good friend. 

Family

He was born to Afeni Shakur (nee Alice Faye Williams) and William Garland. 

He is a stepson to Mutulu Shakur who for 4 years was on the list of FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives 

He has Mopreme as older stepbrother, Sekyiwa as younger maternal half-sister and Takerra Allen as younger paternal half-sister. 

Religion

While his lyrics and poems contain suggestive texts that reverences God and implies Christianity, his general lifestyle and disbelief in organised religion has made analysts conclude that he was deist.
